With the small appliance getting smarter each day it is now time to start designing specifically for the mobile marketplace. The other day Google came out and said that their ads for mobile phones are surpassing the PC. Last year consumers spent 1.6 billion dollars via m commerce.
Below we have highlighted some pointers on how to design for the mobile marketplace. Even though many of these hints seem to be common sense, there are many mobile sites that fall short of good design.
* Simplify your design for the mobile phone, leas is more. * Ensure that you have a very easy to follow navigation system in place. * Give the user what you offer right away, don’t make it hard to find. * Provide content is the short version. Don’t get too wordy because it won’t be read. * Make sure that your mobile site can be found. 23% of mobile users say sites are easy to find, that number needs to get higher. * Keep your mobile site fresh. Fresh content keeps your users coming back. * Offer promotions that only your mobile site offers to keep them coming back. * Test frequently and often to ensure that you are offering the mobile user what they want.
